The link is not broken and the essay is not vapour. It exists, in a branch, being argued with. An essay leaves that branch when its argument survives a hostile review, not when its author gets tired of it, and that one is still in the first condition. Somewhere right now a sentence is being moved back to where it was two revisions ago.
In the meantime, everything that is published is listed on the front page, and every revision to it is logged, with a feed, on the changes page. If you would rather be told than remember: the feed exists precisely so that nobody has to keep clicking a link that says patience.
